The Department of Veterans Affairs needed to deliver a new beta website to quickly showcase how VA services could be conducted online.
The solution
Ad Hoc was engaged by the VA to help deliver the first version of Vets.gov. Faced with an aggressive adhoc-timeline, the Ad Hoc team was engaged in all aspects of the project, including branding, user experience, visual design, development, and technical infrastructure.
Ad Hoc delivered a flexible, lightweight solution that employed the best features of gov.uk, the USDS Web Design Standards, and visual design standards already in use by the VA. Built mobile first, the beta version of vets.gov is an efficient front end platform that performs well on everything from a phone on a slow network, to a widescreen desktop using a fast broadband connection.
